Schunko, the legend
You are into gun replicas? Soft guns? Other forms of fake weaponry?
I guess you know Schunko (near Urania) already. If not: go there. It’s fake gun lovers kitsch heaven.

Prater impressions
The Prater (or to be precise: Wurstelprater) is an amusement park in the second district of Vienna. The park features various rides, bumper cars, whatever. It’s kitsch heaven, as Cory Doctorow once called it.
Here are a couple of images from my last visit.

Kitsch VII
This still life I found in the backyard of the house where I’m living. It seems that I’m not the only 1 in this house loving kitsch. (But if you look at my co-inhabitants it’s no wonder >>>>>)
Comments are off for this postAbout Blogging 01 - Networks & Series
Blogging has changed somehow my life, I often think of it (see Phogging), for me its some kind of artinstrument & I think there are lots of projects you can do. It’s a good instument to work with.
Like you can see in the blog I like series. The urban art series, the It’s Kitsch I know series, the Funny Fountain series and so on. For me blogging is like telling a story. Everything is somehow connected. So I try to make as many hyperlinks as possible. This is what I did yesterday with the ….
The aim is to produce a ingenious post where everything is linked to all other blogs all over the world.
It’s Kitsch I know VI

This corner I found in a friends bathroom.

Supergreat!
It’s Kitsch I know IV

Yesterday I was invited to the appartement of a friend of mine, and when I went to the toilett I found hanging over the bedroomdoor this colourful poster. I was impressed. Thats oldold style.

(from whom is this song, I have no idea, only the melody in my head)
It’s Kitsch I know III
I know that you know that I love Kitsch.
But to tell the truth - I prefer horrorkitsch like this:

This photo is taken on Donaukanal near U6-station Spittelau, early this morning.
But that was not a normal morning - it was a stormy morning, a wild morning, a hungry morning, howling and dangerouse, a morning - howling for sacrifice. I just went home from a party, wanted to do some nice stuff for the blog and I heard the wind talking to me, talking silent and urgent, telling me something and I understood - the wind was howing for sacrifice. And I started to hear it everywhere - in the trees, in the water, in the buildings, in the clouds - the whole world was howling for sacrifice!
Suddenly I was afraid - I started to move faster.
Howling for sacrifice.
& a few minutes later I felt suddenly absolutely well - there was light everywhere - I felt happy & entire - I felt infinte. Bip-Bip-Bip-Biiip. And then I saw slowly moving shadows - I felt well - and the shadows had big heads - I felt well - and small hands and in this small hands they had scalpels. And then - Bip-Bip-Bip-Biiip.
I woke up in a crypt & recognized the dead Falco lieing next to my corps. But I was naked.
Österreich ist frei - Austria is free…or not?
Do you know this filmstill?

The lady on the stairs is president of the Global Union played by Hilde Krahl, the funny guy downstairs is not an advertisement for Micheline, it’s a security garde. The silver bowl with the stairs - lognzack! - a spaceship and the building in the back is - you wont believe it - Schloss Schönbrunn.
This is how Austrian science fiction looks like. And I can tell you - It’s 1 of the most ridiculous movies I ever saw (and I saw innumerable scrap. Yes, I love scrap, trash, crap & as you know - Kitsch. It all has something in common). You havetohaveto see this movie. Of course it’s boring.
But they meant it as a propaganda film! When the movie was produced Austria was still “occupied by the four powers, USA, Great Britain, France and the Soviet-Union but had an own government. For 7 years this government had tried to become fully independent again. The film shows the situation of Austria and the world nearly 50 years later in a very humorous way. At our time its really funny how they thought at that time the world would be. The four powers were still ruling over Austria and the prime minister proclaimed independence. So the court was siting together over the whole country and the prime minister showed the history of the last thousand years.” (see imdb)

The blogger-group met at phil, we had a few drinks and talked and celebrated the 1st birthday of the viennese metroblog. Then I had to go to the toilet (I think you can understand).
These are the funky images I got at this silent place:
