Towel day for the world, Towel night at the Phil
It’s only a matter of weeks until the movie about life, the universe and everything hits cinemas here. Personally, I’ve been waiting for this for years. You might think the time between two night busses is long, but that’s just peanuts when compared to my waiting time. And to commemorate this very froody happening, May 25th (tomorrow!) has been declared Towel Day. So wear your towel with pride! To help you get started, here’s just a few things you can do with it in everyday life:
- Use it as a cushion in public transport!
- Fend off NGO fundraisers on Mariahilferstraße!
- Wrap it around head and shoulders to prevent sunburn!
- Strangle people who let their dogs shit on the street!
- …and over 42 fantastillion more possible uses!
To make it even better, the Phil hosts a special towel night, tomorrow Wednesday from 18:00 till the end of the universe (or till closing time, whatever happens first.), complete with open mike, a projection of the BBC hitchhiker series, and music by the MQ’s current artist in residence, DJ Kalle Laar.
EDIT: I mixed up something with the gifts, sorry. As a special appreciation gift, every carbon-based lifeform that brings a towel will recieve a free non-working pen, and those who read their favourite passage from the Hitchhiker series get a complimentary pangalactic gargleblaster! (Offer void to silicon-based lifeforms due to side-effects Santraalian sea water has on them. No Vogon poetry, please.)
Chair/Table/Life-support-pod-reservation is advised..
P.S.: In the spirit of all-embracing phildelity, the Phil now also has WLAN, to complete the multimedial attack on your senses. Ask the boss for the WEP key.
