kanak attack - the aftermath

okay, i didn’t think it was possible to top the reactions of mr. strache to the “kanak attack” decorations at the kunsthalle wien, but he did it. i was minding my own business in the s-bahn, but caught a glimpse of the guy next to me who was skipping over to the sports part of “heute”, our mediaprint-sponsored free city newspaper. as he was going through the paper, i saw an ad by the freedom party that i had to share with you. sorry for the bad image quality, it’s camphoned. but i still remember the text.

“KEIN STEUERGELD FÜRS TÜRKENZELT”
(no tax money for the turk tent)

complete with an image of the kunsthalle, mr. strache’s award-winning smile and the message “H.C. Strache - he says what Vienna thinks.” First, if Vienna really thinks like this, I want out. now. second.. I really can’t say anything about the message. it speaks for itself. I’m now positive that this is as low as you can go in terms of populist propaganda. and now, I’ll go and throw up. again. have a nice day.

Well as an Austrian I have to admit that these kind of Populist Propogandas were functioning for many years… However, as a Vienese, I really think of The Unfair University Reform, the Retirement Age climbing over 50’s, Stinking Health System, Unemployed people (I am one of them!) and many more… Because of their coalition this city has living it’s worse for the last 10 years.

There was Kurt Weil, who was one of the founders of UN in Vienna, we are an UN city and many of the UN needs are also covered by our taxes; so I can’t imagine the Rednecks like HC Strache printing and hanging affiches all over Vienna one day, shouting Wien darf nicht ein UN Stadt werden… As a Vienese for 300 years (surely long before Strache family came from lower Bohemia:)) I don’t think so!
