yay for tupalo, seriously.

i have been vegan for 13 years now right here in vienna and things have gotten really good for us over the last few years.
DO check out Formosa in barnabitengasse. you won’t regret it.

Hi Sean, glad Tupalo helped you to find Rupps! One of my favorite places for vegan schnitzel in Vienna.

After being vegan in the US, I’ve found it actually REALLY easy to be vegan here, once you learn of all of the shops, restaurants and cafes that have vegan-options.

This is so great! I’m excited about going to this place when I’m in Vienna. After all of the warnings about being vegan there, it’s good to know there are some comforts for spoiled California vegans.

Glad you stumbled upon Tupalo! It’s good stuff, and one of the guys is a vegan, I think. I found a ton of vegetarian/vegan stuff there (although I’m not strictly veggie/vegan, we don’t do a lot of meat & try to avoid dairy) that, were it not for Tupalo, I would have *never* known existed.

That’s one of the things I love/hate about Vienna. There is *so much* here, in such a dense arrangement, that one has virtually limitless options. The problem is that it’s sometimes very difficult to discover what’s available. I suppose there are worse problems to have….

I wish I’d known about that when I lived there! I was a vegetarian for my whole four months there and never had a problem – I think it’s easier to be vegetarian there than in middle America, when it comes down to it. Doesn’t surprise me that your vegan-hood is easily accommodated.
