I guess you can imagine which spots they chose for the video…

I’ve always loved this video, especially as someone who lived in Vienna for a glorious four months.

What is the grave or monument that Midge is standing in front of about 2′00″ from the end of the video?

@ richardrj…
you mean the statue/face of a woman, before the camera moves on to midge’s face?
i have no clue… somewhere on zentralfriedhof?

@grenz: I actually meant the monument to the right of that, which the camera moves on to next - the dark statue with its head in its hand. But yes, it’s right next to the face of the woman to which you refer. I think this is the same statue as the one that appears on the cover of the “Vienna” single, which is shown here:
Anyway, this just goes to show that the locations in the video are not quite as obvious as you make out in your introduction :)

@ richard: ah, ok… still i think it could be zentralfriedhof.
most of the other stuff is rather obvious ;-)

Hi Grenz, I have to add that Ultravox’s Vienna is one of the best songs of the 80’s. By the way, my husband was at school with the Midge, though back in Glasgow, way back in those days he was known as James……

Yes, and the reason he got the nickname Midge was not because he was short or anything, but because it sounds like ‘Jim’ backwards…
