Ether magazine celebrates its six-month anniversary

Ether magazine, Vienna’s English language webzine, is celebrating its six-month anniversary with a ticket giveaway bonanza. Readers can win free entry to performances at Porgy& Bess, The English Lovers and The Vienna Theatre Project.

Since its launch in October last year, the monthly magazine http://www.ethermagazine.at - described as a combination of city magazine and expat resource with an emphasis on the arts - has grown to attract a nearly 5,000-strong readership.

Editor Katie Binns said: “This is no mean feat for a project that launched without a budget, the fanfare of a launch party or conventional advertising. With its recent appearance on Okto TV and advertising cooperation with the Wiener Zeitung, Ether magazine will continue to grow. ”

Katie, aged 24, who moved to Vienna from London in October 2005, continues to be bowled over by the feedback she receives .

She said: “Emails arrive in my inbox from a variety of people at home and abroad. Our aim to have something for everyone seems to have appealed - our features, columnists, photo stories, artist’s page, book reviews and promotion of a different band every month have struck a chord with locals and expats alike.”

Ether is available online in a pdf document and is typically downloaded 8000 times a month.

New readers are invited to sign up to the mailing list which will inform them by email when the new issue is out every month.
