„Immer nie am Meer” (always never by the sea. transl.) was the title of a book by Grissemann and Steerman and because they planned a movie, which has got nothing to do with the book, they gave the movie the same title. This argumentation probably tells you more about the kind of humour G+S like to use than I could ever do b using phrases like associative anarchism, planned chaos or post-modern dumbness. The movie was called a pyschological grotesque and it is rather tragic, but people laughed a lot, so it is probably a comedy after all. It is definitely worth seeing. Don’t worry, if you don’t speak any German, in the way of thinking of Grissemann and Steerman, you’ll get more out of it that way.
