Berlin’s major Wowereit said “Berlin ist arm, aber sexy” (Berlin is poor, but it is sexy). In obvious analogy Viennese vice major Sepp Rieder of the Socialist party said in the closing sentences of his budget statement “Vienna is sexy, but it isn’t poor.” and added “and for the first district it should be added, that it will remain sexy if missionary Ursula [Stenzel] doesn’t strain herself.”

Female politicians of the opposite, conservative accused Sepp Rieder of being sexist and announced to call him “sexist sepp” in the future if he doesn’t apologize.

Not even trying to understand the sexism-accusation, I stumbled over this really great entry in a forum commenting this incident:
