Coffee Day?

Vienna: Ask a Viennese of any age where to meet, and the answer will invariably be: “Let’s go to the coffee house.” Vienna’s coffee aficionados now have a new option: Coffee Day, an Indian cafĂ© chain that opened its first European outlet here.

Where is the outlet? Any hints?

The telephone book is always a good place to start. Here is the Herold.at entry. But if that is to complicated is is behind the across from Cafe Tirolerhof and the Albertina.

Hopefully this addition to all those coffee-houses creates more competition amongst them. In my view, coffee in Vienna gets worse and worse every day. Maybe someday they will realize that it is not blaming Starbucks for getting them down, but the wacky, sometimes even bad service they have and the ugly coffee they produce. First coffee-house to go next time: Coffee Day.
