Marshmallows?

I love marshmallows! Doubleplusgood! And I want to roast them on an open fire!
But where do I get real marshmallows in Vienna? I just could get my hands on the tiny, green-white-blue colored Haribo marshmallows… but they are not the real thing.

i think you can get them at julius meinl in the first district, though it might be more expensive… i used to see them randomly at merkur when i lived in the 21/22nd. they were the normal white kind in a package with American Marshmellows written all over it. ahh, the memories of making rice crispies treats… i hope you find them

    Hallo,
ich bin mir sicher, dass es Marshmallows im Bobby’s Foodstore (http://www.bobbys.at, Nähe Karlsplatz) gibt. Auch beim Merkur glaube ich schon mal “richtige” Marshmallows gesehen zu haben.

Grenz - owing to the fact that the Vienna metblog is my daily source of fun and information from my fave City; If you can’t find a purveyor of marshmallows, those big and flumpy, soft and squeezy, pink and white varieties, please let me know and I’ll send you some from Manchester, where they can be bought in abundance!
    Cheers, Kazmac

When a fellow American and I lived in Vienna, we had the same trouble finding ‘real’ marhsmallows when we conspired to make ‘Rice Crispy Treats.’ As with the cereal, we had friends back in the States mail us the puffy confection. The treats were well worth the wait.

There’s this yugoslavian brand of marshmallows called munchmallow and too me (maybe because I grew up with them) are the best.

You can get them at MERKUR stores on the shelf with products from ex-Yugoslavia. This is how do they look like: http://www.robnakuca.com/ssc/munchmallow.jpg

    Give it a try!

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, habe ich letztes Jahr mal welche beim OBI gesehen! Das war allerdings in Tirol und muss auch nicht stimmen….
