The Flower Currency

Together with a few people we started a project called “The Flower Currency” last year… and now — as it gets friendlier outside — we continue the project in Vienna and Lower Austria.

Here’s a short interview with financial cryptographer Ian Grigg.

more and more videos cropping up here, this is great!

but please oh please oh please, do something about the bad video-audio-synchronization. it looks as if mr. grigg had originally said something entirely different and some funny person did a very bad job of overdubbing new words. this makes it hard to take anything seriously or even follow what’s being said at all. maybe that’s because it reminds me so much of an infomercial and my brain is saying, “do they want to sell me a flowbee or a chia pet? i don’t even want to find out! i’ll just filter it out.”

looks like the youtube player has nothing to do with it, though. i downloaded the flash video file and transcoded it into a quicktime movie. this made grenz’s introductory greeting (”welcome, ladies and gentleman, in front of your quicktime players”) less silly, but it’s still badly out of sync.
