Speisestelle
Johannes Grenzfurthner, famous cannibal and vital organ of both the Vienna Metroblog and monochrom, explains the Speisestelle in his own glamorous words, using only a spreadsheet, a picture of an 80s pop icon, a laser pointer and a young socially distored hacker as his tools.)
A long time ago, in a Museumsquartier far away, there was the Project Speis - a weekly meeting by monochrom and friends to watch movies, talk stuff, meet people and eat lots and lots of pizza. Sadly, Project Speis took a decline a few years ago, due to numerous reasons. But now, Project Speis is back, better and greater and more everything than ever! Yay! And if that weren’t enough, the great people at monochrom and Team Teichenberg even threw in the Speisestelle. This could be translated as “feeding place”, I guess, and indeed it feeds information to the hungry masses, for it’s a free wifi hotspot inside the MQ, secured from wind, weather and dreaded sunlight by the strong walls of the Quartier, and elegantly furnished with only the finest in small wooden tables and plastic folding chairs. So, if the phil and Möbel are full, or if you just prefer the wacky, lively, non-consumerist ways of the Museumsquartier, bring your laptop, get a beer (or coke if you’re me), and SURF!
UPDATE: Since YouTube seems to be down, here’s an alternative video link.

YouTube seems to be down for maintenance since a few hours. Meh.
fun!!
These amazing technologies are so under appreciated in my part of the world. Seeing Johannes master them is tickling.
ich hab mich jetzt dazu durchgerungen, den gesamten text auswendig zu lernen und auf, das ich ihn auf dem nachhauseweg aufsagen kann
OMG !!! I’ve just seen live video footage of The Grenz on my pc. Now that’s scary…Actually it’s fun to see that the guy behind some of the whackiest Wien metblogs is equally as whacky himself. Go Grenz !!!
