Snowy Days

Umberto already told you that Winter has now officially arrived in this very city.

Up to a few days ago, it was only cold as hell, but no real snow. But then, oho! Snow came.
Snow is a good thing, well, until it melts away and then freezes over the night and i already had my troubles walking to the subway without kissing the street (… or my ass kissing the street.).

But snow is good.
Its part of the winter, just like the Maroni and Langos thingies.

And what else?
oh yes, the Christkindl Markets! Is there any good one you could recommend me? with lots of Punsch and Jagatee and… stuff?

I was so glad it was snowing. For me, snow makes the cold world warmer. Yay snow.

I like the one at spittelberg ( http://www.spittelberg.at ) although it is quite crowded. reminds me always of a christmas market in a small village.

(and you can always get into some pub and continue drinking^Wcelebrating the soon cometogether of all the presents^Wpeople you like )

Funny, for myself and no doubt many others, langos is very much a summer thing; To be consumed with great care in swimwear, under a hot sun, on the strand (preferably at Balaton).

try the punschstandln at the campus, not just punsch and jagatee but also a donkey, sheep and goats! but be aware, the ass likes biting fingers, jackets, bags and pretty much everything he’s not supposed to eat.

langos are, without a shadow of a doubt, carnival[0] and amusement park food. the typical maroni stands don’t have langos, but rather potato fritters. i wouldn’t know what it’s like on christmas markets, though.

[0] carnival as in fun fair of course, not ‘fasching’.

the big benefit of the AKH campus christkindlmarkt is its longer opening hours (22:00 IIRC). Otherwise, Spittelberg and also Rathaus (yeah, yeah, I know…) are nice
