The Gentlemen That Saved Me
In case you wondered, i am not dead. Not yet! Just been busy with photocrap and all of that non interesting stuff.
I just wanted to let you peek into a typical “it does really only happen to me” situation.
Imagine you had a long day at work. Imagine that you really arent in the mood to talk. Imagine you just want to get home as fast as possible to happily pass out on the couch. Thats how i felt when i got off the U4 at Spittelau, walking straightly like a non-drunk lemming to the elevator. Walking in front of me there was an african young man, and a guy around 40. Before all of us there were 4 drunk-looking guys. We passed them and got into the elevator. I didnt really look what the guys were doing, i only looked to the feet before me so i wouldnt step on them. One of the four guys jumped into the elevator as well, but left one foot outside so the elevator couldnt close. None of us said anything. We simply waited. The other 3 guys started to scream something about money, and jumped, and i mean JUMPED, into the lift as well. I fell against the 40year old man, and the african young man against me. The other ones didnt notice us at all and started to discuss how much money they still need, 2 of them started to take out abags with white powder in it, and two bags with what seemed to be weed and shoved it into the jacket pockets of the other 2. I was amazed. How could someone be so retarded and deal with drugs on a subway station with at least 2 cameras taping them? 2 of them got out, one followed, the other one left as well, but got back into the elevator. I got a bit inpatient and said something along “are you finished now?” when the guy turned around and glared at me. I glared back, and then i realized it was kinda stupid to say anything. The guy started to bitch around and grabbed my right arm and obviously made himself ready to hit me. I couldnt free myself, when the 40year old dude and the african man started to shout at the drug dealer. They treatened him, yelled at him, until he did let me go and left. My hearbeat was faster than a bunny on speed, and all i could say was a whispered “thank you.”
The lift started its journey to upper floor.
I dont know what would have happened without the two men helping me. Probably i would have ended up getting beaten up, or maybe nothing would have happened. I obviously interfered into a drug deal, and it probably wasnt the smartest thing to do, but i was happy to see that there are still people that would stand up and help me. And that, dear people, makes me happy.

Glad to hear you’re okay.
its surprising how some drug dealers dont care about whos looking and who isnt. ive had the same elevator drug exchange experience. the lift was stopped, suddenly people got in, foot out, lift closed and deal started while i tried looking elsewhere e.g. the dark shaft where you might find the odd rat which can be interesting in such situations. what surprises me is that i am the one who has to look away!
location burggasse U6 the one behind the library.
leftisttoe, its the very same at spittelau right now. i would have never thought that drug dealers are using the rather well protected spittelau subway station.
i should check out burggasse though, havent been there for ages!
