Toilet art 03

I like toilets & everything that has to do with that (see _>1, _>2, _>3, _>4, _>5, _>6).
I think Marcel Duchamp could be called the first toilet artist (Even in the other toilet art-articles toilet art was meant differently, perhaps Duchamp would like that title). I think Duchamps is in general very often misinterpreted - it’s too easy to take something from his work & make an hommage or something like that. It’s this sitting on the shoulders of giants thing. But this installation by Or-Om, an Austrian art group, in mq I like. And it’s different to Duchamps. Because on the 1 hand side it works with the Hornbach (funny homepage) thing where you can buy the materials (like toilets) to build houses, they work with the Hornbach catalogues aesthetics & Or-Om declares that all “Hornbach” outlets are art galleries, on the other hand side this time the toilet is not in the museum (that was Duchamps “trick”) but somehow in publid space (just around the corner of the monochrom bureau in the electric avenue. Ever heard of monochrom? watch out ;)) & that is a different point of view. Of course the electric avenue is a place for art, but it’s no museum in the classical acceptation.
I like this project.
btw to add some trash: I never saw some1 using it. But would be a nice picture.

you beat me to it again:)
took picture of it yesterday but didnt find time to bluetooth to computer… freaky how we seem to notice the same things!
yes that’s really freaky, because this thing is there since a few weeks & when i saw it first i was not interested in it. but this time i changed my mind. maybe you influenced me & there is a connection in our perception? a metroblogging soul-hyperlink? maybe sean has a special hidden program to connect the bloggers & transform them all over the world to a super networking machine? a army of bloggers…
btw: good title for a postpostmodern band [army_of_bloggers]
first album: {i_blog_you_baby}
yes, i already blogged about it a couple of months ago.
actually, it’s monochrom’s orange wall and we invited or-om to present the project.
