Dusty Sprengnagel

In the early 1980’s neon advertising experienced a great revival throughout Europe. At this time an artist in Vienna, Dusty Sprengnagel, began to incorporate this medium in his work. In a very short time he transformed the profession of neon design. With his internationally recognized award winning company NEON Line Dusty Sprengnagel fulfilled the creative needs of his international clients. Dusty has won numerous awards in Signs of the Times’ annual electric sign design competition.
Dusty is also publishing books. He has travelled the world, photographing neon everywhere he goes. He has selected the best uses he’s seen and designed. His book “Neon World” captures leading-edge designs, classic neon landmarks and the spectaculars of New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, London, Paris and more. It also features isolated timeless classics of Route 66, the American Southwest and — of course — Vienna.
He programs a display booth at the Museumsquartier Vienna where he presents different neon and light artists. He currently shows one of his own works: “Hall of Fame I”. Neon portraits of Pasolini, Godard, Woody Allen and Bob Dylan.
