Maria Schell
Today is a sad day. I just read that Maria Schell, one of the most famous austrian actresses (or probably the most famous and most loved one) died on Tuesday.
Maria was 79 years old. please google and find all the interesting facts about her life, if you want more information about this great woman.

i could never get the hang of feeling sad about old people not waking up one morning after they suffered from pneumonia and several heart strokes for years. none of my monkeysphere business.
there was a strange and interesting programme on maria schells old days made by her brother maximilian schell yesterday morning on ORF 2. at some stage in her life (after being left by just about everyone) she decided not to care about the world anymore and spent her days lying in bed surrounded by three tv’s. she was totally broke and maximilian saved the familys “alm” where she lived then by selling some of his avantgarde-pictures (a rothko for example). there was a great scene where she called up her family to say good bye because she was convinced that a comet had hit the earth. when her son told her, that she was watching a film (indenpendence day or something like this), she said: “no, i can see max on the beach.” of course maximilian shell is an actor to and had a role in the film … very strange documentary indeed.
i only watched a 15 minute thing on 3 sat the other day, and saw the television thing. scary. totally scary.
