Hardcore Japanese Vienna sausage DIY stuff

Everywhere in the world they call Vienna sausages Vienna sausages. Only in Vienna we call them Frankfurter sausages. Anyhow… this site is an online gallery with little Vienna sausage DIY foodstuffs from Japan.

By the way, I hate Vienna sausages.

We call them “hrenovka” back in Yugoslavia, meaning somethink like “the hren-thing”. The hren again stands for that plant, germans call Kren and englishmen horseradish.

    Interesting ;-)

not that i have come across any hard evidence, but i believe that there actually is a small distinction between a frankfurter sausage and a wiener sausage. maybe in the added spices? by the way, americans (i guess also britons) say wiener, not vienna sausage or viennese sausage. and i think the usage of the term ‘frankfurter’ is more wide-spread than you said; it should be the common term throughout austria … maybe even in souther germany? i’d do some research if this were the least bit interesting :-)
